7 days...again.

Hi All,
One week from today I'll be on my way to Tanzania and Uganda! The more I think about it, the more excited I get. It also helps to know that I'll be traveling to much warmer weather. Mhmmm, vitamin D.
I am so thankful that God is allowing this opportunity to meet Marick (my sponsor child.) I have been getting a backpack ready with school supplies, clothes, and toys for him. It's going to be so much fun and (God willing) the first of many visits to see my little boy. God continues to give me peace in regards to this trip. Such an answer to prayer. Thank you all for your continuous prayers and support. Be blessed and much love!

First Samples (Jan. 24-28)

Making some good progress. One more full week of work before leaving to go back to Africa! I will be in Tanzania and Uganda from Feb. 6 through Feb. 21. Please be praying for safe travels especially in Uganda. I arrive the day before elections which can be dangerous. I am going to check out the facilities of a fair trade apparel company before making a long term commitment. Please pray for God's hand to be on this initial trip and that he provides discernment. I am so excited to be going back 'home!'
Love to each of you!
**I would love your feedback on the above collection pieces. Please leave your comments!!!

Collection Progress

I'm so thrilled! Two weeks from today I have my first fitting with some of my collection pieces. Ah, such a relief. Once those samples are fitted, I can begin to embellish. I've begun working on dresses and skirts. See some pics below to get a sneak peek. Jewelry images coming soon...

DC + African Art

NYE 2011 with the BFF
Hi friends!
This week has me completely inspired but very stressed. I got home from DC with a nasty cold that really knocked the wind out of me. On the bright side, I'm now feeling much better and ready to create!
Now if only the snow will let up in order for me to get everything done.

Some inspiring images from the National Museum of African Art in DC:

I love this painting! (Painted on the reverse of a mirror.)

I had a wonderful time being back in an urban environment. More updates to come later, with pics, of the collection. Be blessed!
